Vikki was born in Oakland, California, but grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At age 7, she started studying the piano and at age 11, began studying the clarinet. Inspired by her music teachers and band directors, Vikki decided to pursue a career in music. She started her first piano studio in Chesapeake, Virginia and has recently relocated to Chesterfield, Virginia. Other teaching experience includes clarinet master classes, private piano lessons, voice, secondary band, secondary orchestra, jazz, percussion and elementary general music.
As a seven-year veteran member of Dr. Sidney Berg’s Tidewater Winds, a graduate from Old Dominion University and a dual certified music education major, she was fortunate to work with great musicians, such as the late Alberto Roman Asercion and Patty Carlson, principal clarinetist of the Virginia Symphony.
