Meghan specializes in
classical guitar, but also teaches folk, bluegrass, and acoustic
finger-picking. She has experience working with children and adults,
and loves the rewards of guiding a student to enhance his or her musical
experience through the beauty of the guitar. Her house was always full
of music, as both of her parents played and taught violin, piano, and
guitar. Meghan started piano lessons at age five and the viola at age
nine. She continued to play both of these instruments through high
school, but she fell in love with playing the guitar. Meghan is currently seeking her Bachelors of Music in Classical Guitar Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a regular soloist in the VCU concert series, including the Jesus Silva Scholarship Concerts, and is a member of the VCU Guitar Quartet and the VCU Guitar Ensemble. She has performed in numerous master classes led by expert guitarists William Kanengiser of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet , Ricardo Cobo, Julian Gray from The Peabody Conservatory, and Benjamin Verdery from Yale. She also plays professionally for public and private events in a classical guitar duo with guitarist Matt Rise. |
